The Railway Hotel in Clifftown Road, Southend, will be the venue for a unique TEDtalks-inspired event next weekend (29th May). South East and Central Essex Mind, the local mental health charity are utilising TEDtalks, the globally recognised internet platform, as a way for the community to gain an insight into mental health in Southend. Speakers will each give a short ten minute talk about their experiences within mental health and then answer 5 minutes of questions from the public.
This unique afternoon will be the platform for counsellors, fundraisers, service users and lecturers who all play a part in our mental health services. This exhibition is being launched during Mental health Awareness fortnight, a campaign to highlight stress, anxiety and depression. It starts at 12 noon and finishes at 4pm. Free entry and refreshments will be provided.
